With the increases in provider responsibility and the need to understand changing face of healthcare (i.e. regulation, technology, claims, insurance, business management) coupled with the decreases in reimbursement and resources, we feel the administrative expectations on providers are too great. Effie Carlson is the owner and operator of Best Practice Management (BPM) and has been involved in small business development and marketing for 10 years and healthcare management for the last four years. She started Best Practice Management in response to an industry-wide need for a practice resource that is tailored for each client.
She designed the BPM system with direct knowledge and experience in both practice management and health insurance. Her time in Utilization Management with a major health insurance company gave her valuable information on all aspects of the provider/insurer relationship. From authorizations, benefits, contracts, claims, and appeals, Effie worked directly with these departments expanding her focus from one department to an entire structure.
In marketing, Effie offers experience in a variety of areas from healthcare to film production and retail, developing marketing pieces, websites, and plans for new business and start-ups. Effie offers experience in discussing marketing and communication options for the client’s practice, how to develop and implement a basic marketing plan, and creating the client’s ideal practice.
Effie resides in Scottsdale, AZ with her husband and twin boys.
